Write for Us : You Can Write Too!
Yes, you! We are always looking for new writers. If you have an idea that people will like or learn something from, we want to hear it. You don’t need to write something big or famous—just share something new and interesting that matters to you.
Writing for Us Takes Effort (But It’s Worth It) We want your article to be the best it can be. If we like your idea, we’ll help you make it better. You’ll get help from our team and an editor who will give you advice and suggestions.
It’s also exciting—thousands of people (even future employers or clients) might read your article. And you’ll get better at writing and sharing your ideas.
What You Can Send You can send us:
- A full article
- Part of an article
- A short idea (a few sentences about what you want to write and why it matters), with a basic plan
We mostly want new content (not something already on your blog or another website). But sometimes we can re-post old content if you agree and we give credit.
Please don’t send ads or product promotions. We won’t accept them.
Before sending, read our style guide and other articles. Make sure your writing:
- Has one clear main idea
- Sounds like a real person—be bold and friendly
- Is for people who work with websites (like designers and developers)
- Uses facts, not just opinions
- Follows our writing style

What We Publish
We post articles that are 600 to 2,500 words long. Most are around 1,500 words. Some are fun and easy, like tutorials. Others are more serious and detailed. But all should be thoughtful and useful for people who work in the web world.
How to Send Your Article Send your article
Send your article by email. We like Google Docs best so we can add comments and suggestions. You can also send a plain text file, a Markdown file, or a link to an HTML page. (Don’t send a ZIP file unless we ask.)
What Happens After You Send It
- An editor will read it and see if it’s a good fit.
- If yes, the team will talk about it.
- We’ll send you feedback (we almost never say yes right away, but we’ll let you know if we’re interested).
- You make changes and send it back.
- If we say yes, we’ll help you finish it and pick a date to publish it.
